UI Dance Marathon raised $1,058,658.16!

University of Iowa Dance Marathon raised $1,058,658.16 for childhood cancer on February 5 and 6, 2010 at the Iowa Memorial Union in Iowa City, Iowa! We had an amazing time and are thankful to all of the students who danced for 24 hours and to the volunteers and organizations/companies who donated food, activities, costumes, games, time, etc., etc., etc.

Please join us on Saturday September 12-13, 2009 for a fun event at Wasserbahn Waterpark in Amana, Iowa! They have graciously offered us a discounted double hotel room rate ($109) which includes 4 free waterpark passes! Please call 319-668-1175 to reserve your room for September 12. When you call to reserve your room, tell them you are with Retinoblastoma Midwest to get the rate. If you are within close driving distance and prefer to come to swim for the day or evening, please do that!! I will arrange a meeting in the restaurant Saturday evening for those who are interested to gather and talk. First Rb Event Update

The first Rb event arranged by Jessica in St. Louis at the St. Louis Zoo turned out to be a success despite the weather’s attempt to interfere. Three families attended and had a snack together while waiting for the rain to stop. Then they ventured out to check out the zoo. Eventually, the rain wouldn’t give up and they were forced to call it a day. We hope to have another event within the next month. Check back for more information! Thanks to the families who braved the storm to attend the first Retinoblastoma Midwest event!!

This site is here to provide information and resources for families faced with a diagnosis of retinoblastoma. We also will post upcoming activities and events for RbMW. We hope to gather families with retinoblastoma from Iowa, Illinois and Missouri for fun events! The first kick off event will be planned in St. Louis for this summer-more information to come soon!!
