UI Dance Marathon

Dance Marathon begins tonight at 7:00 pm! Dance Marathon provides emotional and financial support for patients and their families treated at University of Iowa Children’s Hospital.

We will meet at the Lincoln Park Zoo @ 10am. Lincoln Park Zoo has free admission and is located off I-94 at the Fulllerton Parkway Exit. Afterwards- bring a picnic or grab lunch and bring it to the North Avenue Beach (1600 North Lakeshore Drive) for an afternoon of cooling off in Lake Michigan!

If you cannot make both places we will try to make it over to the beach by 1:00pm. The beach does have an eatery if you’d like to purchase food there. Also, it is my understanding that both places have pay parking lots. You may also be able to find free street parking however, it is at a premium. And of course you can reach downtown by public transportation- www.transitchicago.com

UI Dance Marathon raised $1,058,658.16!

University of Iowa Dance Marathon raised $1,058,658.16 for childhood cancer on February 5 and 6, 2010 at the Iowa Memorial Union in Iowa City, Iowa! We had an amazing time and are thankful to all of the students who danced for 24 hours and to the volunteers and organizations/companies who donated food, activities, costumes, games, time, etc., etc., etc.

Please join us on Saturday September 12-13, 2009 for a fun event at Wasserbahn Waterpark in Amana, Iowa! They have graciously offered us a discounted double hotel room rate ($109) which includes 4 free waterpark passes! Please call 319-668-1175 to reserve your room for September 12. When you call to reserve your room, tell them you are with Retinoblastoma Midwest to get the rate. If you are within close driving distance and prefer to come to swim for the day or evening, please do that!! I will arrange a meeting in the restaurant Saturday evening for those who are interested to gather and talk.
